Ryan Garcia has his share of respect for the only octuple world champion Manny Pacquiao and considers him a true messiah of world boxing. However, that won’t restrict him from throwing vicious shots if they ever collide inside the ring.

According to the ongoing talks, Garcia and Pacquiao will fight each other soon. Despite having no relevant world titles at stake, the matchup is still intriguing as Ryan Garcia sees it as a competition against his idol. Although both the pugilists are active, the fight can still happen as an exhibition. But ‘KingRy’ will try to knockout ‘Pac-Man’.

Speaking with ESPN, Garcia said, “The fight is going to be a fight. Whether they named it an exhibition or a real certified match, I’m throwing punches like I’m trying to knock Manny Pacquiao out.”

22- year-old Garcia wants to be real inside the ring and doesn’t want his respect for Pacquiao to influence the game. That said, he wants Manny Pacquiao to do the same. Exhibition or not, Ryan Garcia is looking for an intense fight with the Filipino Senator.

Speaking on it, the WBC Interim lightweight champion added, “If you get two people in the ring with 8- or 10-ounce gloves with no headgear, you tell me if that would be an exhibition or a real fight, knowing that we’re both real fighters. I’m not going in there to throw pillow punches, I’m throwing the punches I throw. And I’m sure Manny will throw the punches he throws. You guys can call it whatever you want.”

Ryan Garcia vs Manny Pacquiao- How much is the possibility?

The matchup has come up from nowhere. While Garcia was touted to fight Gervonta Davis, Pacquaio was supposedly looking at a crossover fight with UFC star Conor McGregor. But, fate took different turns when Garcia desired to fight Pacquaio in an interview, and the fight seemed possible for the right reasons.

Garcia and Pacquiao are from different weight classes for the time. The Mexican-American is a lightweight and the Filipino Senator is a welterweight. However, Garcia believes this will not be an issue.

He said, “We’re still talking about [the weight differential]. That could be worked around very easily. Whatever Manny wants for the weight to be at, I can do it. I’m a big boy, I’m not a small 135; I’m a pretty big 135. If I have to gain weight, I will.”
