In an interview with Boxing King Media, Joshua was asked if he would still like to aim for the undisputed Heavyweight title. And his answer was not something one would expect. Every boxer’s goal is to become the undisputed champion of their weight division. But, even though he is the former two-time unified champion, the question of his return to the top remains.
Discussing if he would like to get his hands on the undisputed title, AJ replied, “I’m done with all that. Undisputed’s a headache. I’ve been chasing that for a long time. That’s a whole headache.” With these statements, Joshua indicates the immense pressure professional boxers must endure to win titles. And even to retain them. But that doesn’t mean Joshua doesn’t want any titles.
He added, “I’ll just get my hands on one of the titles.” The bout on April 1 will be Joshua’s first step towards his journey back to the top of the sport. And it will be exciting to see who Joshua fights next. Eddie Hearn recently listed the potential five opponents for Joshua after his fight on April 1.
