Canelo Alvarez turned 33 today. However, the Mexican phenom decided to continue training even today and issued his upcoming opponent, Jermell Charlo, a warning over Instagram. Reportedly, the Mexican boxer would very likely face Jermell Charlo on the 30th of September this year. And going by his recent post, it seems Canelo is not taking a single day off ahead of the potential fight.

After his last fight with John Ryder in May, a number of people, including Charlo, criticized Canelo’s performance. It seems Canelo wants to deliver a message by facing the undisputed super welterweight champion this year in the ring.

Following Canelo Alvarez’s last fight against Ryder, Charlo took to Instagram Live and declared that the Mexican boxer could not beat him with his “sh*tty performance“. Charlo, who claimed he “never ducked smoke,” stated, “That b*tch can’t beat me with that sh*tty last performance. That b*tch can’t beat me.” In this context, he even proposed an Undisputed vs. Undisputed bout. “It could be a big thing in boxing,” ‘Iron Man’ declared. Although Canelo initially preferred silence, he has now issued Charlo a warning. On his 33rd birthday, Alvarez took to Instagram and uploaded the following video:

He captioned the post, “I’m always ready. Happy birthday to me.” In the video, he is heard saying, “I don’t need to get ready because I’m always ready, m*therf*ck*r.” It looks like Canelo is ready to face whatever challenge Charlo is capable of bringing. Before sending this warning to Charlo, the undisputed super middleweight champion of the world recently also spoke about knocking out David Benavidez in the future. It seems Canelo has a different message to deliver to those who thought he was past his prime and on the decline.
