Oscar De La Hoya and Canelo Alvarez took The Golden Boy Promotions at the pinnacle of success before they contracted scratch in their professional relationship. Following a controversial split up, Alvarez joined hands with Matchroom Promotions’ Eddie Hearn and continued staging successful PPV fights for himself.

However, De La Hoya turned the situation even dirtier. After losing a star performer in Alvarez, ‘The Golden Boy’ engaged himself in a verbal banter with the Mexican star. The feud went deeper when De La Hoya seemingly called out the P4P king for an in-ring scrap. That said, the relationship might have seen another turn and this time it’s on a good note.

Following a birthday wish for Alvarez, De La Hoya took to social media and offered friendship to this former prodigy. The 48-year-also also lashed at Eddie Hearn by posting a picture that reflects the Brit promoter accusing Canelo Alvarez of cheating, from the past.

In the caption, Oscar De La Hoya wrote, “Look at your fu**** promoter accusing you, and I’m always in your corner defending.”

Meanwhile, Alvarez looks quite pleased with his recent status. On his road as a free agent, he has grabbed three world titles at 168 lbs division, with successful paydays. That said, he is now aligned for a massive unification fight against Caleb Plant. The fight can happen by the end of this year.

Nevertheless, Eddie Hearn isn’t the sole promoter of Canelo Alvarez. The P4P King has worked on a fight-to-fight deal with Hearn and the situation remains the same as of now. 31-year-old Canelo Alvarez is rightly a cash-cow and the ongoing scenario cites that he clearly needs very little support from other promoters to bag lucrative fights.
