Ryan Garcia got handed his first-ever defeat in the seventh round of his bout against Gervonta Davis. The fight garnered a lot of interest from the boxing world which even transpired in post-fight drama. After his loss, Garcia took to Instagram and made a statement in which he confessed that there was a “mole” in his camp.
He stated, “Actually sad I had a mole in my camp🐀 like wtf that’s crazy but thank God it’s brought to light now.” Garcia was indicating that someone from his training camp was being an ostensible member by being Davis’ spy. His statement went viral in the boxing world as many fans considered the same as an excuse for his defeat. However, in another Instagram story, he thanked Jesus for being there with him wherever he walks; referring to the “mole” controversy.

Garcia is a man of God and refers to Jesus numerous times publicly. Even after his defeat, during the post-fight interview in the ring, Garcia thanked God for being there for him even after he lost. After his mole controversy, Garcia was upset but kept his spirits high. He took to Instagram to share how even after having a “mole” in his camp, ‘KingRy’ has been backed by the “Holy Spirit”. In his Instagram story, the boxer stated, “You can have that as well 🙏🏻 If you have felt abandoned before if people you love disappoint you. JESUS IS THERE. The Holy Spirit will be there to carry you thru and provide victory.”
It appears that a lot of tension is going on behind the scenes with Ryan Garcia. It is unclear as to who Garcia is referring to with his message. However, it is safe to say that Garcia is keeping his spirits high by focusing on the positive light.
When Garcia responded to the criticism of his ‘mole’ controversy
Right after Garcia made his “mole” statement fans came at him for making excuses. The boxer then put these allegations to rest by clearing the air. Garcia took to Twitter where he explicitly made it clear that the “mole” statement is far from an excuse and admitted he got defeated fair and square.
He stated, “People taking it the wrong way I’m not saying that’s why I took the loss I’m saying that it’s crazy that part of my team switched sides and crossed me. I would never make that an excuse for sure. He beat me and that’s that.”
