Lightweight super-star Ryan Garcia has made a huge claim about Gervonta Davis. The undefeated fighter explained the significance of their potential fight. He questioned Davis’ legacy and said no one would remember him.

The two have been in the news for a while now. This started because Ryan Garcia called out ‘Tank’ after his victory over Luke Campbell. The two have since embarked on a war of words and Garcia has just added to it.

Speaking on Hotboxin with Mike Tyson on YouTube, Garcia gave his message to the Baltimore born fighter. “Tank, imma say it in front of Mike and Jeremy. If you do not take this fight, your legacy is forever tainted.

“Nobody, I mean nobody, will ever remember your name. Nobody.”

He then admitted that Davis may have made more money than him, but pointed out that it counts for nothing. Thus, he is openly calling out Davis and his team.

Is Ryan Garcia on to something with these claims?

The lightweight division is very exciting at the moment. There are 4 fighters, undefeated and at the top of their game. Fans will want them to fight each other; however, as we’ve seen in the past, it’s not so simple in boxing.

Floyd Mayweather, who manages ‘Tank’, has spoken about creating a legacy. However, Mayweather is someone who gets a lot of criticism for fighting opponents when they were past their peak.

Davis has repeatedly expressed a deep desire to fight the 22-year-old sensation. Unfortunately for him, it’s his team that makes the final decision. This could lead to the fight falling through.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally, the big fights may not happen. If that is the case, Garcia’s statement may ring true for years to come.

Just like Floyd Mayweather will forever be at the receiving end of criticism for his decisions, Davis may also face the same if he doesn’t fight Ryan Garcia.
