Following his first professional defeat against Gervonta Davis, there have been rumors regarding Ryan Garcia not continuing his journey with the ‘Golden Boy Promotions’. After Davis beat Garcia on the 22nd of April, Oscar De La Hoya remained absent at the post-fight conference, leading others to question his professionalism and support for ‘KingRy’. Along these lines, the rumors of Garcia splitting with De La Hoya hit the sport.

Although it is not clear whether or not Garcia has renewed his contract with the ‘Golden Boy Promotions’, Hearn was asked if he was interested in promoting Garcia had the latter been a “promotional free agent“. Speaking of which, Hearn admitted his interest in talking to Garcia.
