Claressa Shields talked about the incidents which took place at the Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta Davis LA press conference. So, Tank and Garcia are scheduled to fight on April 22, 2023, in LA and the tickets are already sold out. According to the reports, the whole stadium was sold out in just a span of 3 minutes, so it would really not be an exaggeration to say that this fight is the most anticipated fight of the year yet. But Shields definitely posed a problem as she didn’t deem it to be professional, for what happened at the LA Press Conference.
Claressa Shields is herself a legend in Women’s Boxing, she is currently an Undisputed World Middleweight Champion, as previously she gained an amazing victory over Savannah Marshall to become the World Champion. She indicated that if she would have faced the same altercation as both fighters at the LA conference, things wouldn’t go that smoothly.

Now, things got a bit heated up during the face-off between the two fighters, as there was some back and forth about how they’d knock each other out on the coming Apr 22. That’s when a photo was clicked which got a bit viral on the internet, where Ryan Garcia pushed his knuckle on Davis’ cheek.
So Shields made a tweet about this, where she asked Tank, why would he allow Garcia to disrespect him like that. She wrote, “Man @Gervontaa why you let Ryan put his knuckles on you!?”
But in that very tweet, she was corrected by a Twitter user, ShutUpandTweet, who told her that Davis was the one who did it first. He even posted a GIF from the same conference to support his claim.

Then, Claressa Shields made another tweet about the incident, where she clearly remarked that if she was in a similar situation, she would not take this disrespect kindly, at any cost. And she cannot fathom how these fighters can stay calm after such an altercation.
As she wrote in her tweet, “The men be different 🤣🤣 Id kick a girl ass lol. Don’t put your knuckles on Me. I would’ve start choking her 😂😩“.
And it makes sense as she has been the MMA fighter as well, in the past. One time, she even talked about the difference between competing in boxing and MMA.

Shields may not fight Savannah Marshall or Natasha Jonas next
Well, boxing fans want to see Shields in a face-off again after her previous Marshall fight. They want to see Shields get laced up, and defend her belts against worthy opponents. But it may not be against the potential prospects, Savannah Marshall or Natasha Jonas that were in the conversations before. As there are some problems surrounding the rematch which are explained by Savannah Marshall’s promoter, Ben Shalom.
He explained how Marshall doesn’t want to fight in the UK, as Shields wanted the fight to be held in the United Kingdom.

Also, Shalom stated, “To be fair, she [Shields] feels it isn’t the right time.” So, Marshall would be fighting somebody else in the USA, according to Shalom.
On the other hand, Shields’ team members sent a contract to Natasha Jonas, but she did not feel it fit her demands of a fight of such a magnitude.
Even this fight is standing on a lopsided platform, so it’s difficult that the fans will get to see Shields vs. Jonas anytime soon.
