Shakur Stevenson has gained his way to the top of the lightweight division. The former two-time world champion made his debut as a lightweight, winning his bout against Japanese professional boxer Shuichiro Yoshino in April. And it is not a secret that the 25-year-old has been open about his plans to fight the top contenders in the lightweight division. He wants to make his mark as a lightweight. And one of the most anticipated matchups for Stevenson is against the reigning undisputed lightweight champion, Devin Haney. Stevenson wants to add lightweight world titles to his boxing resume, and he wants to do it soon.

In a recent interview, Shakur Stevenson talked about his next potential opponent in the lightweight division. And discussed the big fights for him. The former champ also talked about a fight with the Baltimore hard-hitter Gervonta Davis. Notably, he talked about a fight against Haney. And how fighting the 24-year-old would help him establish himself as a “fighter.”

In an interview with TMZ, Stevenson talked about the fights he wants now that he is a lightweight. And, talked about Davis being the number one fight for him. He explained why he wants to fight ‘The Dream’ and what role the fight will play for him.

Stevenson said, “I think both [Davis and Haney] fights is great fights for me, Obviously, I think me and Tank is a bigger fight, but me and Dev is a fight where I could establish who I am as a fighter.” It seems like Stevenson has a good reason to get in the ring with Haney. Stevenson was present at Haney’s recent fight against Vasyl Lomachenko. And he gave his take on the fight’s ruling.

Talking about the possibility of Haney moving up in the weight division, Stevenson said, “If [Devin] can’t make the weight and he don’t feel the same, then just go up, but if it was me, if I was in his shoes, I would have the [Loma] rematch,” Stevenson seems to be eager to get in the ring with Haney. And it is safe to say that a match between the two is not off the table.

The two-division world champion is looking to get back into the boxing ring. And there are many lightweights on the list of his potential opponents. ‘Fearless’ has made it known that he wants two fights – Davis and Haney.
