Having ducked out of professional boxing back in 2018. ‘Hayemaker’ David Haye is seemingly thinking of making a return to the ring. However, he only wants to take on the best of the best, which is either Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua.
The Londoner took up retirement following a 5th round defeat at the hands of Tony Bellew. His rematch with the ‘Bomber’ produced the exact same result as their first fight, a loss by TKO.
Haye reveals he has made a full recovery from a spate of injuries that were haunting him during the final years of his career. Despite having his body back at full strength, Haye believes a proper championship return would be a step too far.

🗣️ David Haye asked if there's a fight he'd consider coming out of retirement for now: "I don't think so. The only one I would genuinely do is the winner of AJ and Tyson Fury because that would be the #1. That's probably the only one, but not really." [@BehindTheGloves]

Yet Haye reveals that he has been training throughout this time. This is why Haye would consider making a comeback against the one who emerges victorious between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
“The only one that I would do it for is the winner of AJ and Tyson Fury because that would be No1 vs No1. That’s probably the only one, but not really. It’s a lot to go through. I got my body in a good place right now, and I’m in a good place. All my injuries have healed up. There’s been no hardcore training. I’ve been at home with my weights.”- David Haye to Behind The Glove
David Haye is Training For Vanity
The 39-year-old famously ripped his Achilles tendon in 2017 during a grudge match against Bellew. Following the shock loss, Haye has been taking it easy.
“I’ve enjoyed this time where the intensity has been taken from a ten to a three. I probably train between half an hour to 45-minute every day. If you want to knockout big guys and have a chance of winning against giants, you’ve got to sacrifice and put your body through it. I’m not training for an athletic performance. I’m training for vanity”- David Haye

It is only natural to think about what you would if you were in a particular situation in a fight. Exactly like every ex-fighter, Haye has been doing the same thing while watching fights.
“When I watch fights now, I think ‘I’d slip this jab, I’d do this and do that.’ That’s the slippery slope when your brain starts going like that.”- David Haye

The Londoner feels that when it comes to athleticism and raw power, both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are a class above all the other fighters in their division.
