Andy Ruiz Jr. who rose to fame by becoming the first heavyweight champion of Mexican ethnicity in 2019 is going through a contract drama. Since he lost his title in the rematch with Anthony Joshua, the former unified heavyweight champion, could not get back in the same rhythm. The man is changing his trainers and promoters to get the best out of himself.

A few days ago, renowned journalist Michael Benson reported on Twitter that Ruiz Jr. is terminating his contract with PBC. He wrote, “Andy Ruiz is now a free agent after terminating his contract with Al Haymon’s PBC by mutual agreement, his father Andy Ruiz Sr has revealed.”

However, now, the recent declaration made by Ruiz Jr. refutes all such claims. On February 27, Ruiz Jr. came up with a new update on his contract.

What did Andy Ruiz Jr say about his contract?

The 33-year-old took to Instagram and shared his picture. Along with that, he dropped a brief message which gave inputs into his new contract that would decide the future of his boxing.

He wrote, “On behalf of myself and Team Ruiz, we would like to thank TGB Promotions and President Tom Brown for their great support. My contract with TBG Promotions has come to an end & I will now be moving forward as part of the PBC Family with Al Haymon as my advisor. I am excited to continue pursuing the biggest fights and taking on the top fighters in my division. Thank you all for your continued support. Can’t wait to see what 2023 brings.”

It’s a big proclamation made by the fighter because till now the course of his contract has reportedly been producing many wrong storylines. Now after things are sorted ‘The Destroyer’ will look after making a big comeback in 2023.
