Ryan Garcia already has his eyes set on his next opponent. But it’s not Devin Haney. The American boxer got into a verbal spat with Conor Benn, and it seems the fight is going to happen in London’s iconic O2 stadium. But there is a twist.

The two started their verbal exchange when the British fighter made himself available to fight either Garcia or ‘The Dream’. Welcoming the fight, ‘KingRy’ even decided on the venue and issued a grim prediction. What did he say?

Garcia, 25, turned to his X handle and replied to Benn’s callout. He wrote, “Let’s run it in London at the 02. I will fracture your SPLEEN and then eat it. Shoutout London.”

This comment came after Benn, 27, had called Garcia’s performance “great” and had lauded Haney for “getting off the floor 3 times“. ‘The Destroyer’ then added, “I will fight any of these guys.” Following this, he also responded with his desire to smash Garcia’s teeth down his neck, calling him a “w*nker.”

Garcia, at 25-1, didn’t stop there as he pointed out how Benn couldn’t fight in his own country. He declared, “You know I’m about the business but you can’t even fight in your own country wtf.” Notably, Benn can’t box in the UK, as the British Boxing Board of Control has banned him after testing positive for clomifene on two occasions in 2022.

But what if they stage a fight in the States? Can they do it? Yes. But is the Victorville native willing to move up? He has clarified his stance.

Is ‘KingRy’ moving up the weight class?

Garcia failed to make the weight for the Haney fight and so couldn’t win the title, coming in heavier at 143 pounds. It seems he has realized his ideal weight is somewhere around that mark and not 140. In the post-fight conference, he specified, “I’m moving up, I’m not doing 140, I’m going to 147. I can’t make 140.”

Garcia notably has never fought at 140 and his previous three fights, all have been at catchweight. He continued, “I never even technically fought at 140. I fought every time at 143. My body literally can’t go lower than 143. It’s impossible. I tried every technique. I can’t do it.”

It remains to be seen when Garcia makes the switch, as he seemed more comfortable fighting at 143. Meanwhile, Benn last fought Peter Dobson in February and is looking to make a return in the summer.
