A very public and controversial personal life added a different shade to The Baddest Man on the Planet. Many who had the fortune of interviewing Iron Mike may vouch for his magnetic constitution—often leaving them spellbound and responding in ways that draw contrarian reactions from fans and lovers.

Television journalist Tucker Carlson joined Fox News in 2009. Six years later, he started the eponymous Tucker Carlson Tonight. Last year he launched Tucker Carlson Today on Fox Nation.

A very engaging host renowned for disputing commonly held views, Carlson had invited Iron Mike for a chat. Split into two parts, the first part dealt with Mike’s boxing journey. Then, they continued with Mike’s views and feeling while facing opponents. The Fox News host asked, “Have you, in the years since those fights have you stayed in touch with any of the guys that you fought?”

Mike then described the relationship and partnership he has with Evander Holyfield. The former foes share a bitter past that saw the infamous Bite Fight.

Then Carlson what to know whether Tyson still had Tigers for pets. The latter informed in the negative since he has kids to take care of. 

The whole conversation paved the way for a Twitterati clap back.

Most stood by Iron Mike, especially when he returned from those turbulent years.

However, Tucker Carlson endured scathing raps on the knuckle.

 

But this will not be the first time when a journalist was seemingly overwhelmed by Mike Tyson’s presence.

A table between us

Stories abound about how UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan took precautionary measures before Tyson’s arrival. While talking to stand-up comedian Mark Normand, he shared an anecdote involving the former boxing champion.

Believing that Tyson would be his usual aggressive self, Joe wanted to ensure a safe distance between him and the former, “[Mike Tyson] is the reason why this table is this wide. This table, I was going to make it more narrow; I even had a smaller table that we were working with as a guide.“…I did an interview with Tyson, and he was so amped up for this Roy Jones fight that I got nervous being in the room. “I’m like, ‘I like that extra six inches of space between us, because he was so ramped up…”
