The win for Fury surprised several fans all over the world. However, Fury, with a plan in place, was certain that there was no way he would have lost the fight to Wilder.

Fury was the underdog heading into the fight against Wilder, following their previous matchup that ended in a draw. The Gypsy King, quite familiar playing that role, found his place on the world stage following his fight against Wladimir Klitschko.
Ahead of his fight with the Bronze Bomber, many felt that his win over the Ukrainian was the highlight of his career. However, Fury managed to top himself by dropping Wilder by the seventh round.
The rematch saw Fury take the fight to his opponent early on and dominate him in every round. Wilder went down twice before forcing his cornermen to throw in the towel.
“I knew he couldn’t beat me because if he was ever going to beat me he’d beat he after I’d had three years out of the ring with only two s****y comeback fights and he couldn’t do it then, he couldn’t even keep me down when he had me down. So I knew he’d hit me with his best shots and I’d got up from them. I knew I couldn’t be defeated by him,” said Tyson Fury.
Tyson Fury reveals his secret
Fury was in the pilot’s seat from the get-go. It was obvious that each and every punch that Fury threw was bothering Wilder. The Brit’s class and composure threw Wilder off his game.
“It was mental strength, willpower, determination, and the balls to just say, ‘Right. I’m going to put it straight on you, son. See how you react to that’. I think he was surprised because I attacked him from the first second of the first bell,” explains Fury.

What’s commendable is the fact that Fury was looking for the knockout from the first round. However, he did not get too reckless. He left no space for Wilder to drop his lethal right hand.
“And I always wanted to give him a bit of payback from that first fight because he put me down twice. And in the second fight, I think I put him down three or four times and it was completed the greatest comeback in the history of boxing,” claims Fury.
