To this day, Canelo Alvarez has attained 36 knockout wins in his professional boxing career. However, his victory against Amir Khan remains one of the most special ones. While the Mexican might want to look back at it all his life, Khan would never feel the same about it.
Amir ‘King’ Khan was left unconscious as Canelo landed a massive left hook on his head in the sixth round. The punch did so much damage to Khan that he required medical help to get back on his feet.

It has been four years since the fight and both boxers have competed several times since then. Recently, Amir Khan recalled the contest, citing how powerful Canelo really is.
Amir Khan landed his best shots on Canelo Alvarez
The former unified welterweight champion connected with Fight Hub TV and recollected his encounter against the Mexican superstar. Despite being brutally knocked out, Khan did not hesitate to credit his rival’s worth.
He said, “I remember hitting him (Canelo) and he didn’t budge and he didn’t even move.”
“I swear that was enough when I hit him with that left hook-right hand. And that’s the shot, I have literally knocked a lot of people down with and he didn’t move back enough. And I thought, ‘Oh s***’ ”
While talking about the fight, Khan also said that Canelo has quick hands and feet, which many people don’t realize. That said, Khan had no other choice rather than hitting and moving since his best shots proved ineffective.
“I got my hands full here and then every time I just had to stub and move, stub and move because if I knew my best shit didn’t hurt him, then what’s the point to pour more hard shots,” said ‘King’ Khan.

A look back at the epic contest
If you remember the fight, there’s no way you can deny that Khan gave it all inside the ring. During the primary few rounds, both men looked promising and sharp, constantly pressuring each other.
However, Canelo was quick enough to change his stance and pace throughout. After a close battle of five rounds, Alvarez silenced his critics in the sixth. He landed a crisp left hook on Khan and flatlined the Britisher. It was horrific to watch, but Khan took it like a man and accepted the defeat with no further excuses.
