Joe Joyce put up an incredible performance against fellow undefeated boxer Daniel Dubois in what was an impressive display of boxing from the former Olympian.
He defied all the expectations and answered his critics in the most befitting manner. Additionally, he did it in a manner that won’t sit well with the young prospect for a very long time.
“I thought it would be harder because I thought he’d be walking me down and cutting the ring off, I don’t know. I thought it would have been a lot harder,” Joyce said.

Daniel Dubois was the favorite going into the fight. Dubois is widely regarded as a future champion. He is known for his explosive power, impeccable boxing style, and his quick movement inside the ring.
Joyce, on the other hand, wasn’t given much consideration given he is 35 and comparatively slower than Dubois. However, experience prevailed once again as Joyce followed his game-plan to victory.

Additionally, the ‘Juggernaut‘ made it look so easy, connecting jabs at will over the course of the entire bout. While there were moments from Dubois, the 35-year-old did not deter in the face of heavy punching.
Joyce’s chin held on to him, and he never looked out of touch during the entire bout. It’s safe to assume that had the fight gone the distance, it was a comfortable decision win for Joyce.
However, it didn’t come to that. Joyce’s accurate jabs from the beginning left a swelling on Dubois’ left eye, rendering him unable to continue by the 10th round.

Dubois’ power didn’t prove quite as effective as it had against former opponents. Needless to say, Joyce’s amateur experience and his Olympic pedigree helped him past Daniel Dubois.
Be that as it may, ‘Dynamite’ is still young and has a lot of time ahead of him to make a comeback and jump back into the title picture.

Soon after the victory, Joyce called out undefeated Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk is coming off an impressive win over Derek Chisora. Both the boxers could be looking at a match-up for the vacant WBO heavyweight gold.
