Kanye West had a peculiar year, last year, and his actions took the whole world by storm. His remark landed him in loads of trouble as the rapper ended up losing a lot of lucrative partnerships and endorsement deals. This included his decade-long association with the shoes, apparel, and sporting goods behemoth, Adidas. His antics caused a lot of fans to turn their backs on the American artist. As rapper Nick Cannon appeared on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the topic of Kanye West was naturally brought up.
Cannon is now on friendly terms with West though they have had their differences in the past as well. So as someone who has known both the “old Kanye” as well as the “new Kanye”, co-host of the podcast, DJ Whoo Kid asked the burning question- “You hung out with the old Kanye, what do you think about the new one?” The Wild’n Out host claimed, ” I know both of them.” When asked about the difference between the two, Nick expressed his concern for ‘N****s in Paris’ artist’s well-being. He said, “I pray for the dude every day because, again, I don’t say we probably struggle with a lot of the same things but it’s like he’s on another level.”

Nick Cannon discusses the struggles of Kanye West with Mike Tyson
According to Cannon, Kanye’s mind works at a higher frequency, making it arduous for him to articulate his thoughts. He added, “Sometimes you got to shake s**t up like am I living?” Whoo Kid shared his understanding and stated, “he know he’s thinking on another frequency and then like language is primitive. So if you see Kanye he’s always struggling to get out what he really feels in an interview or anything. He’s trying to say so many things, his mind is moving so fast, he’s never laid back.”
Furthermore, he added that music provides a way for West to communicate his thoughts better.

Cannon further affirmed Kanye’s devoted fan base. He drew parallels to Tyson’s own fanatical following. Addressing Kanye’s future, Cannon was optimistic, stating that his devoted fan base would continue supporting him no matter what.
Drawing parallels to Mike Tyson’s own fanatical following, Cannon acknowledged the power of deeply devoted fans who fuel an artist’s journey. Though he lamented, “People who have that level like I don’t have those type of fans, I’ve never been, what you got, fanatics? Where people love-”. Suddenly Tyson interjected and simply said, “You’d be surprised brother.”

Overall, Cannon was full of praises for Kanye West as he was left impressed by the latter’s skills.
