In 2009, Kim Kardashian stepped into the ring. Fifteen years have passed since she faced Tamara Frapasella for a charity boxing match. Now, cutting across timelines, it seems to have piqued a renewed interest. Intrigued by the fight footage, Beijing Olympics bronze medalist and former professional boxer Tony Jeffries called out the media personality, who will celebrate her forty-fourth birthday tomorrow. If she’s up for a rematch with Frapasella, then he could make himself available in her corner, ready to guide her through it.
The charity boxing show was a part of Kim Kardashian’s record-breaking show, ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’. Some of the clips featured Kardashian looking a bit concerned about the attempt. However, she decided to proceed and fought the Russian actress in a two-round bout. She lost on points. But Tony Jeffries believes that with him in her corner, she could turn the tables on her opponent the next time she fights.
“What do you think? @kimkardashian rematch with me in your corner.. smash her up 😀,” wrote Tony Jeffries. The clip on the Instagram post showed him reviewing the Kardashian-Frapasella clash. The drama, it seems, unfolded right from the dressing room.

Looking worried, Kim Kardashian drew her mother’s attention. “Mom, can I talk to you for a sec? I’m scared for my life. I don’t want to do it,” said the Los Angeles-born businesswoman. Her mother tried to reassure her, “Fall to the floor and just say it’s over.” But the daughter then emphasized that she didn’t want to be a ‘quitter’ either. So it was onto the ring.
Lauding the socialite, Tony Jeffries added that even for an exhibition fight, “getting in the ring to fight someone else is a very scary thing.” But the kind of gloves Kardashian and Frapasella wore seemingly puzzled him. Highlighting the pros and cons of their special head guard, he said, “They’ve got the headguard with a bar across the face; this by no means stops the impact of the damage from the punches. It stops you from getting your nose broken. But even with these on, you can still feel every punch.”
Anyhow, the fight started, and he could see that Kim Kardashian was walking very slowly towards her opponent. As the fight progressed, Tamara Frapasella threw a big right at Kardashian’s face. Then a body shot followed. Talking about Kardashian’s fighting style, he pointed out, “So she’s turned her head away, which is the worst thing you can do in boxing. As well as she is crossing her feet from this position.”

Then, as she threw a string of rights at Kardashian, Jeffries wondered whether Frapasella was looking for a knockout win. ‘The Mighty Mackem’ directed the attention at the referee, who could be heard shouting, “Exhibition, exhibition,” lest the contents forget the friendly nature of their duel. Jeffries also emphasized that if it’s an exhibition match, then fighters “shouldn’t be going hard like this. This is for charity.”

Eventually, in the end, the fight went to the scorecards, and all the judges unanimously awarded it in Tamara Frapasella’s favor, 20-18. Nevertheless, Kardashian’s courage left a strong impression on Tony Jeffries. More so, she took the step for a noble cause. However, he strongly felt, “If she does it again, she needs a better trainer.”
