It seems like Tyson Fury might run into double trouble. He better watch himself out on the final press conference if he needs a safe passage to the fight with Oleksandr Usyk. Because the Ukrainian champion’s mother would be keeping a watchful eye on him. That’s what the unified heavyweight title holder shared in the lead-up to the big battle at the Kingdom Arena. On Saturday, the fate of the heavyweight division’s undisputed throne, which has been vacant for the last 25 years, will be decided.

The fight between two of modern boxing’s biggest names had been on the anvil for some time. It took several rounds of talks, discussions, and barbs for the two sides to finally decide the matter once and for all. Incidentally, the bout underwent a cancellation when Fury suffered an injury. The fight scheduled for February 17 this year had to be aborted and postponed to the current date. During a discussion with the media, Usyk spoke a little about his family. Especially what his mother felt when she saw Tyson Fury and his antics.

The reporter from Boxing King Media was talking to Oleksandr Usyk. Soon, the discussion touched on how the Ukrainian champion’s family, especially his spouse, children, and siblings, viewed the fight. Now, Usyk is very close to his mother. So the reporter wanted to know how she would react, especially in light of how things turned out at the London press conference.

I know you’re very close to your mom. You know, when your mom saw she will watch the the videos from the fight, and she watched your press conference with Tyson. You know, when you was head-to-head with each other, you know the press conference in London. What does your mom say about Tyson Fury when she watches the videos? What what did she say to you?” the reporter asked.

So the unified heavyweight champion revealed that his mother would be very furious. Hence, even his attempts at pacification might not succeed. “Uh, Mama, all time hungry, angry like angry a little bit, hey, why this man push you what this man told you? I say, Mom, it’s show it; just show please, uh, relax; listen; say if this man push you, I I kill okay, okay?He said.

Usyk might have put it simply. However, the fact remains that the heavyweight champion is a very devoted family man and maintains a close relationship with each member of his household.

Oleksandr Usyk: Family Man Forever

In the run-up to the Tyson Fury-Francis Ngannou fight, while speaking with TNT Sports, Usyk spoke about his late father. His father saw him become an Olympic champion. But sadly, he left the world before Usyk could arrive and meet him in person. “He watched me become an Olympic champion, but I didn’t make it on time to show him the gold medal. When I arrived, he had already been lying in the coffin. I handed him the medal, put it in his dead hand, and then left the room,” said the champ.
