The world of boxing is no stranger to high-stakes bets and trash-talking between fighters. However, lightweight contenders Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis have seemingly taken things to the next level. The two fighters are set to face off in a highly anticipated showdown on Saturday night, but their pre-fight antics have already captured the attention of fans and media alike.

During an Instagram live session on Monday night, Davis and Garcia appeared to have reached an agreement on betting their entire fight purse on the outcome of their match. It now seems that the highly anticipated fight on Saturday will be a ‘winner takes all’ bout. Although at the time the bet looked like it was made in the spur of the moment, ‘KingRy’ has doubled down on it and wishes to go through with it as well.

Speaking to a Showtime reporter, Garcia was asked if the bet was indeed real. The former interim lightweight champion would then mock his rival and make some harsh comments on Davis’ fashion sense. He stated that he hoped ‘Tank’ was not talking about the purse he wears but making sure to bet on their fight purse.

I just hope he’s not talking about the purse he wears. That’s all I’m worried about. We’re not talking about the purse you wear; we’re talking about the whole fight purse. Bring it on,” he said.

While some have questioned whether the bet will actually come to fruition, Garcia appears to be taking it seriously. If the ‘winner takes all’ bet does come to fruition, it will add an extra layer of drama and excitement to an already highly anticipated matchup. Both fighters have much to gain, and a lot to lose stepping into this fight.

Davis has confirmed that he wants to make sure the bet is legitimate and has been in touch with officials to ensure that Garcia lives up to his end of the bargain. Speaking at the press conference he revealed that he was in talks with his advisor and wanted to make sure that the bet was official, as reported by Mirror.

I’m trying to make it [the purse bet] official. We’ve been calling his advisor [Guadalupe Valencia] and things like that so hopefully we can get it done,” he said to Ray Flores.
