Teofimo Lopez has become a world champion and one of the biggest superstars of boxing in just four years of his run in the professional unit. Today, he is an IBF titleholder, boasting an undefeated record of 15 wins. Further, he has secured 12 knockouts under his name.

He will put his world title on the line this weekend, as he prepares for his fight against Vasiliy Lomachenko in Top Rank’s upcoming main-event. While Lopez has all the reasons to flex himself as one of the best boxers, a shocking defeat can instantly turn the tide for him.

In a recent interaction with Al Bernstein, Lopez clarified a lot of things about his boxing career to the fans. He also talked about people’s expectations of him in the fight.

It seems that the IBF titleholder is relying on the legendary Bruce Lee’s words as he claims to turn himself to “water.” Speaking about it, he said, “I just had to learn how to be like water you know and just go along with it, understand it. You know this only gonna make me stronger and that’s what I took with it.”

While he is confident about beating Lomachenko, Lopez claims to send a stern warning to the entire world. He wants everyone to remember him as the best fighter of the modern era.

Lopez said, “You know we are here today. A couple of weeks before I shock, not the world. I am just gonna say, it’s  when I get to let everyone know that I am the truth you know, I am what I say I am and that’s the best fighter of this time.”

However, only time will tell whether Lopez can actually take out Loma, or whether Lomachenko will emerge victorious. Since world titles will be at stake, both the boxers will give it all inside the ring.
