Additionally, Lopez not only spoke highly of his abilities to defeat Haney but also ridiculed the latter’s boxing skills. Well, ahead of Haney vs. Regis Prograis, here is what ‘The Takeover’ said.

On being asked whether or not Devin Haney wanted to fight him, Lopez replied in the negative. In his opinion, Haney realizes that Lopez would defeat ‘The Dream’. And while Haney may want to act tough by taking the Regis Prograis fight, Lopez wants people to realize that Josh Taylor, a boxer defeated by Teofimo, already beat Regis.

I have messages. They didn’t want to fight me. But, I’m not gonna put them out like that. He’s a big guy, tough guy, so be it. Then show it,” said Lopez.

He wanna say, ‘I’m fighting Prograis.’ But, Prograis has been at this weight for a long time. Regis Prograis has been at 140 as long as Josh Taylor. And Josh Taylor beats Regis Prograis for the WBSS.  He got the Muhammad Ali trophy, he beat Regis Prograis in the finals. And I beat Josh Taylor. I’m the king,” declared ‘The Takeover’ proudly.  And by the by he ridiculed Haney’s boxing.

Lopez believes Devin Haney still fights like an amateur

On being asked about the potential outcome of Lopez facing Haney in the ring, ‘The Takeover’ said, “[I’d] beat his butt.” In this context, the 26-year-old, who hopes Regis Prograis would “bully” ‘The Dream‘, brutally criticized Haney’s way of fighting. “Like he s**ks for real. He’s man-made. He’s been helped to get there. But, he doesn’t have [what it takes] to sustain it and stay there. We will see it either before we fight or when we fight,” concluded Lopez. With that said, do you wish to see Haney and Lopez share the ring? Let us know in the comments.
