Chris Eubank Jr. comes from the family bloodline of boxers, where his father had set extreme goals for him even before he became a starfighter. Following his legendary father’s footsteps, Eubank Jr. could also become a world champion in his respective journey. But the ride is not over yet.
The Sussex native will face Liam Williams in Cardiff on February 22 in a 12-round middleweight contest. Currently, on a 5-fight win streak, Eubank Jr. can enter the title ride once again by beating Williams. That said, a lot of this success story has to be credited to his father, Chris Eubank.

In a chat with Sky Sports, Eubank Jr. recalled his childhood days and how he was scared of his father. The interesting tale came out in the wake of his returning fight, further intensifying people’s attention on the former middleweight world champion.

Chris Eubank Jr. said, “We [Him and his father] spent a lot of time together. He was very very strict that’s for sure. But I needed that. As a kid, I was very active, I was hyperactive.”
“I get trouble into school, get into fights. So knowing that I had to answer to my dad if I stepped a line. It probably yeah, it kept me from going overboard outside of the household. I ended up getting expelled actually from my first private school I went to.”

Chris Eubank Jr. embraced the sport of boxing ten years later, after his father hung his gloves. In 1998, his father retired from boxing after losing to Carl Thompson back to back. A decade later, in 2008, Chris Eubank Jr. became an amateur pugilist and turned pro three years later in 2011.
Can Chris Eubank Jr. shine brightly once again?

In an active career of 31-2, the 32-year-old has scored 23 KOs. Besides, none of his losses have come via stoppage. These factors verify him as a top-tier contender in the division, who is viable for a title shot.

However, the division is full of elite-level champions in Jermall Charlo, Gennady Golovkin, and others. So, Eubank Jr. cannot afford to sleep on any of his rivals.

His upcoming opponent Williams was on a seven-fight win streak before losing to WBO champion, Demetrius Andrade, in 2021. While Williams will try returning to the winning track, it will be a demanding task for Eubank Jr. to tackle him in the ring. Nevertheless, this is what turns the fight into a fan-favorite affair.
