However, Mike Perry, a bare-knuckle fighter, will be taking Tyson’s place owing to the legendary boxer’s medical condition. Fans were let down when Tyson was benched, but they are now thrilled about the Perry vs. Paul bout. Perry is an established fighter in his domain, which has made fans believe that it will be an exciting showdown. But, the 32-year-old has planned something else which could turn out to be a game changer.

Mike Perry plans to strike while the iron is hot

Although Perry is a seasoned fighter, he is still not as popular among combat sports fans. He has the opportunity to win his next fight against a well-known figure like Jake Paul, which will open doors for him to receive much larger paychecks in the future. While talking to ESPN MMA, he admitted, “Whatever it is I’m doing, the only thing I want to ruin is Jake’s face. And you know, I don’t wanna ruin anything for Mike. There’s still gonna be an opportunity. There’s still lots of months ahead and anything can happen within that time.”

Mike Perry expressed his desire to make the most of his next bout. He aims to win, feel good about himself, and celebrate with his family the following day. Additionally, he hopes to receive calls from those interested in signing him for future boxing matches. However, that wasn’t all. He also agreed to enter another fight as a wild card entrant if his upcoming bout plays out in his favor. 

Mike Perry plans to hijack the Mike Tyson match

The news of Paul vs. Tyson has generated a lot of buzz in the boxing world. In a hypothetical situation, ’Platinum’ was further asked if he would accept a fight opposite Mike Tyson in November should the chance arise. Perry was quick to reply. “Yes absolutely. of course man, of course! I’m thinking about that, you know, I would definitely do it. Because the comments can be negative already anyway, so what are they gonna say? ‘Oh now you’re gonna fight the old guy’. They could say whatever comments, the internet is undefeated,” he said excitedly.

The 32-year-old is on a spree to carve his name in the annals of combat sports. He also plans to take on the reigning UFC light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in the near future.
