“I Don’t Think He Can Beat Nobody”: Adrien Broner Defends His Top 5 Lightweight Boxers List After Kicking Out Gervonta Davis’ Toughest Opponent

Adrien Broner is a fan-favorite fighter. Besides being a world-class boxer, he is very outspoken and does not shy away from speaking his mind. He is also planning to make his return inside the squared circle. For the same, the boxer has made amends and made sure to stay sober after dealing with alcohol abuse for many years. He was supposed to take on Michael Williams Jr. However, the fight fell through when Williams Jr. suffered an injury during his training camp.

But Broner is looking in great spirits and is looking forward to making his return shortly. He recently took to Instagram to share his opinion on the current lightweight division boxers.

Broner has been the former lightweight champion. He may not be at the top of the division currently but is looking to make his way to the top after a long time off from the ring. Recently, on his Instagram story, the boxer shared his top 5 best current lightweight boxers. The division has some phenomenal talent but Broner managed to classify his best top 5.

He states, “This is my top 5 lightweight list right now

1. Gervonta Davis 
2. Devin Haney 
3. Shakur Stevenson
4. Vasiliy Lomachenko
5. Ryan Garcia“

The aforementioned names are most definitely one of the best boxers in the lightweight division. Though, one may question, why the former lightweight champion has not mentioned, Isaac Cruz. In the subsequent story, Broner explains the same.

He states, “I didn’t mention Isaacpitbullcruz because statistically I don’t think he can beat nobody on that list. He is a hell of a fighter but all of them guys will be a problem for him “Stylistically” but he always got a puncher’s chance and that’s what makes him very dangerous.”

One can agree or disagree with the assessment of Broner. Though it is due to such immense competition, the sport of boxing and the lightweight division is so exciting.
