Whatever the criticism that he has faced in the past or still faces, Jake Paul remains a prolific fighter who believes in the dictum that ‘an active fighter is a better fighter’. Despite severe apprehensions, the Mike Tyson fight has been pushed back to November. However, the fight on July 20 still remains. Instead of ‘Iron’ Mike, Jake Paul will meet Mike Perry! The duo will square off at Miami, Florida’s Amalie Arena.
Questions remain about the path he is charting in his boxing career. But there’s no denying that ‘The Problem Child’ follows a strong work ethic. A clip of him training and grinding in the gym has been making the rounds. Many fans soon chimed in, sharing their thoughts and motivating the YouTuber-turned-boxer to stay put. That doesn’t mean a few naysayers weren’t able to voice their opinions.

Tagging his companies, the Most Valuable Promotions and the newly launched, ‘W’, Jake Paul wrote, “Tampa I will see you in 22 days with another W via KO. @mostvaluablepromotions @itscalledw.” The clip begins with Paul in full boxing gear, looking at the camera and yelling, “I’ll school, Perry. In the next sequence, he starts hitting some vicious combos at the trainer’s pads. He continues with more work on belly pads. After that, solid right hooks on a heavy bag. “Jake Paul blasting heavy bag for Mike Perry,” the caption on the screen read. Finally, it was time for a promo shot.
Spraying the air with a ‘W’ deodorant, Jake Paul said, “Get W from Walmart.” However, doubts might linger in many minds about the kind of resistance Mike Perry may offer. After all, the only pro boxing fight he has ever participated in dates back almost a decade. In that too, he lost it by KO.
Perry left the UFC to join the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), where he has an undefeated record of 5-0. Notable names among his triumphs include Luke Rockhold and Michael “Venom” Page. Perry had intended to challenge Paul to a bare-knuckle battle, but Paul declined. However, “When it comes to adrenaline, and that July 20th night,” Perry is going to be a “problem for anyone on this planet.” He further said, “If he’s putting pressure on me to try and get me out of there, I’ll get him out of there quicker.”
However, most of the fans came out to encourage the young Ohioan. They expect him to finish off Mike Perry the way he did his other opponents. But then a few still went ahead and took potshots at the way Jake Paul picks his partners for a ring dance.
The ‘Problem’ (Child) for the Platinum
One user admitted that one had to admire the way Jake Paul puts in tons of hard work and remains persistent – “Always working and grinding. Gotta give respect.” The next fan expressed full faith in what Jake Paul said. They appeared certain that ‘The Problem Child’ would inflict a second boxing defeat on Mike Perry. They said, “Absulotely, Jake, u r gonna knock out Perry easily.”
Urging Jake Paul to persevere, the following fan observed that the YouTuber-turned-boxer appeared very quick and nimble. The fan posited that if they were in Mike Perry’s place, they would have been worried to death watching the way Paul had been preparing himself. They seem to believe that the mixed martial artist and bare-knuckle boxer will struggle to retain his composure in the ring. “Looking sharp, I’d be nervous if I were Perry, but he’s doesn’t have nerves, so keep grinding my brotha,” the fan said.
But where there are supporters, it’s often not too difficult to find skeptics as well. For instance, this user pointed out that Jake Paul typically avoids fighting current, active professional boxers and prefers to fight those who have never boxed professionally or are no longer in their prime. The user said, “Jake will fight anyone who isn’t a boxer or if they’re retired.”

Likewise, the next follower also took up the familiar grouse against ‘The Problem Child’. They seemingly chided the YouTuber-turned-boxer for going up against opponents who are either much older, way out of their prime, or semi-retired fighters: “Lol bro only fights people that draw social security.”
Clearly, criticisms aside, most expect Jake Paul to sail through Mike Perry’s defense. then he should be ready for the November showdown against Mike Tyson. But a great deal of the much-anticipated as well as much-criticized fight against ‘Iron’ Mike depends on the readiness of the boxing great.

So be it in the ring or outside, ‘The Problem Child’ continues to create a winning legacy.
