Boxing is a sport that requires a lot of sacrifices and hard work from a fighter who wants to reach the upper echelon of the sport. However, this means that one has to give a hundred percent to the sport and still not have a sure chance of making it with some even passing away during boxing matches. Despite this, IBF flyweight champion Sunny Edwards is one of the select few who has reached the pinnacle of boxing and become a world champion.

He also gave an insight into how much he earned from his purses and endorsements which would be beneficial for upcoming boxers who are trying to make a name for themselves in the sport.

Twitter troll tries to mock Sunny Edwards’ boxing career

The beef started when Edwards tweeted that his four-year-old son had more skill than the majority of boxing fans on Twitter. Following this, he was called out by a fan claiming that a normal person has responsibilities and does not have time to learn boxing. Another fan also sounded off on the IBF champion and stated that some people want their children to be healthy and well-educated instead of being punched in the face.

However, Edwards responded with a fiery reply and said, “that’s why some of you stay scared of your shadows all your lives.” In addition, another fan replied to this statement and tried to mock Edwards’ career. He stated that despite being a world champion he has not earned any significant money. Moreover, he added that people with normal jobs could earn more than him without the risks associated with boxing. This would not turn out to be a great idea for the troll as Edwards shunned him down while also revealing his fight earnings.

Edwards would reply to the troll claiming that this was way better than not earning any money.”What’s next to no money?” he wrote. However, one fan tried to break down how much Edwards made from his fights. According to him, Edwards earned no money after paying out taxes and the fees of his managers and promoters.

Despite this, the British champ would go on to reveal his earnings from the fight and it was not something that the troll expected. Edwards claimed that he earned close to half a million from his purses. Moreover, he added that he had extra revenue streams which included sponsorship deals and endorsements. He also called out the fan for making baseless claims about his career. “Well I cleared much closer to half a mil from my fight purses than 5 figures. Add that to sponsors, other avenues etc. I don’t think I’m the one to be calling broke. You’ll just hurt your feelings,” Edwards wrote.
