Mike Tyson‘s life has been a rollercoaster ride. He came from a life of deprivation and hardships and went on to dominate the boxing world, earning money and fame one can only dream of. With his time as a professional boxer, Tyson became one of the highest-paid athletes of his time. But, all that did not hold in front of the conscience of ‘Iron’ Mike. As he was a victim of his own decisions. And he ended up losing all the riches he had. However, it should be noted that Tyson himself has revealed all the means were not enough to make him happy. And he struggled with his mental health despite earning all the riches one could desire.
In a recent episode of his podcast, Mike Tyson talked about why he believes poor people are happy despite living impoverished lives. And how riches are not something poor people rely on as a source of their happiness. Considering Tyson’s vast experiences after living both lives, one with riches and the other with nothing, it is safe to say that the 56-year-old knows what he is talking about.

For the latest episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the former champ was joined by Colombian singer J Balvin and his co-host DJ Whoo Kid. The three talked about poverty and its uncanny relation to happiness. Balvin talked about the poverty and hardships he has witnessed all over the world. Tyson shared his experiences, adding to the discussion.
Tyson said, “I’ve been all over the world. It’s bad. The first place I go when I get off the country, is the ghetto. They expect me to be there.” Further revealing the reason the poor people are happy, he added, “They have no expectation. ” The 56-year-old then shared an example of poor people and how they have nothing to eat but still manage to be happy.

Tyson went on to talk about the rich having expectations. And might even cry over not getting a car. He said, “So I can’t get my f***in’ Rolls-Royce. F**k am gonna kill myself. F**k You.” According to Tyson, the rich are busy having expectations about things that do not matter, and that is the big difference between the rich and the poor. It is safe to say that Tyson holds a resume of life experiences to make such claims as he went broke despite earning a lot of money.
