It’s already a heated affair between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant, both of whom are set to collide for a 168 lbs title unification fight on November 6th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Following a massive altercation in the first official face-off, the super middleweight champions continue to lash out at each other. Interestingly, the latest jab has come from Alvarez’s side, which appears to be a response to the ‘Sweet Hands’ Plant.
Caleb Plant expressed his supremacy on social media, reflecting a portion of his hard-fought life in the past. He wrote, “You can’t break a poor boy’s chin”, which was a message for the P4P king Alvarez. Meanwhile, Canelo Alvarez has responded to it.

Alvarez said, “I was poor too. I can break your chin. I also grew up not having anything, but I’m not going to tell everybody so they feel pity for me and make myself the victim.”

A division that had three world champions in December 2020, now only has two. Canelo Alvarez snatched the WBC and WBA titles from Callum Smith, before grabbing the WBO from Billy Joe Saunders in May. Now, IBF champion Caleb Plant stands in his way, as the Mexican dreams of becoming the first four-belt unified champion.

Undefeated as a professional, Plant could favour himself over Canelo Alvarez. But that isn’t how boxing works. Mexican star Alvarez has been beating undefeated champions for a long time and Caleb Plant’s resume may not terrorize him. Billy Joe Saunders had a much better resume than Plant, but couldn’t offer any threat to Alvarez in the ring, back in May.
