Joe Fournier can heave a sigh of relief finally. On May 13, the main fight between him and KSI ended on a controversial note. KSI was declared a winner by knockout as Fournier crashed on the canvas. But scrutinizing the connect from multiple angles revealed an elbow hit as the cause of the latter’s fall. As a result, the Professional Boxing Association (PBA) has now reversed the decision. Hence a KSI-Fournier rematch could be on the table.

Fournier, a professional boxer and a nightclub owner, boasts a record of nine professional victories, all through knockouts. But what happened on last Saturday’s main card was the least he could have expected from an exhibition match. The much-younger KSI started on a solid note. During the second round, a powerful right overhand from the YouTuber unsettled Fournier. The former quickly followed up with a blow flattening the latter, who failed to get up on the referee’s count.

But reviews of the hit halting the fight showed KSI’s elbow connecting with Fournier’s face, eventually sending him down. As a result, the businessman filed a review request with the Professional Boxing Association early this week, who handed over their verdict yesterday. According to them, the fight is a ‘no contest’ since the knockout blow came through an illegal elbow.

Is Joe Fournier still unbeaten after getting knocked out?

Much happy with the outcome, Fournier said, “Well, we have some news. I am still undefeated. Still, no one can knock me out. And we’re back, baby. The PBA have ruled. It’s officially a no-contest. It was an illegal elbow. And I am still undefeated. And still look brand new. Now you know that if there’s anything dodgy, well, they rectify it. So respect to that, and you exact now, baby. The rematch. Wow….

On his part, KSI shared a statement with his followers, expressing his anguish over the way things eventually turned up. “….. I’m gutted that it’s not as clean a win as I wanted, and it feels like it diminishes my hard work with my trainers,” he said. According to an article in the Mirror, KSI may not be enthusiastic about a rematch with Joe Fournier. Instead, the YouTuber seems fixated on a much-vaunted bout with Tommy Fury, who defeated Jake Paul on February 26.
