Jamel Herring and Shakur Stevenson are fighting for the WBO super featherweight title. Top Rank billed the event as ‘The Throwdown in A-town’. The event will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on October 23.
Also fighting on the undercard of the event is Muhammad Ali’s grandson Nico Ali Walsh. Nico Walsh will be fighting his second professional fight after an impressive first-round knockout of Jordan Weeks in his professional debut last month.
Shakur Stevenson is looking to win a world championship in another division against Herring. Tickets for the event will be on sale on September 10 at 10 am ET on ticketmaster.com.

Tale of the Tape – Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson
After months of back-and-forth trash talk on social media, the two fighters will finally get a shot at each other. The undefeated prodigy Shakur Stevenson will challenge Herring’s WBO super-featherweight title in a grudge match for the ages.
Many regard Stevenson as one of the top boxing talents out of the US. Stevenson, a former world featherweight champion is undefeated in 16 professional fights. He has not lost a match since winning an Olympic Silver medal in Rio 2016. The 24-year-old will look to establish his name by defeating the current WBO champion.

Jamel Herring is a former US marine, despite being 11 years older than his opponent, Herring has been on a red hot run of form. His last opponent retired after getting knocked out by Herring.

“And with names like Ali Walsh, Ragan, and Isley on the undercard, Atlanta’s great fight fans will see many of the sport’s most promising up-and-comers.” Jamel and Stevenson have not hidden their rivalry from the media.
Herring is confident that he will win his fourth title defense and end the year the same way he started it, as a champion. Stevenson, on the other hand believes he will become a two-weight World champion on October 23rd and begin another chapter in his professional career.
