34-year-old Shawn Porter may not have a world title around his waist right now. However, he has been a champion several times, both at a world level and below that.

The viciousness of the existing welterweight division may curb Porter’s aura as an in-ring killer. However, ‘Showtime’ stands among the best and can rightly look forward to becoming a world titlist again.

Meanwhile, the Ohio-born has already made enough good memories to look back and cherish after retirement. He has been in the ring with some of the very best of his time and has beaten most of them.

In an active career of over a decade, Porter stands at 31-3-1 at the time with 17 KOs under his name. Here’s a look at his title history.

How many belts does Shawn Porter have?

Shawn Porter has held two world titles on the journey so far. The first one was the IBF welterweight title, which he earned in 2013. He then defended the belt once but lost it after that to Kell Brook, which was his first professional loss.

‘Showtime’ then had a failed attempt at the WBA strap against Keith Thurman in 2016. Two years later, he won the WBC welterweight strap.

Apart from the world titles, Porter has bagged umpteen minor belts in his career. The latest was the WBC silver welterweight title, which he won against Sebastian Formella in 2020.

Besides these, Porter has won the IBF North American welterweight title, WBO NABO welterweight title, NABF welterweight title, and WBO Interim NABO super welterweight title in his pro-career.

Who did Shawn Porter win the belts against?

Shawn Porter beat Devon Alexander in 2013 to become the IBF world champion. He won the WBC belt against Danny Garcia in 2018.

Apart from the world titles, the minor belts have come to Porter from his in-ring victims like Alfonso Gomez, Hector Munoz, Russell Jordan, Julio Diaz, amongst others.

He will look to add Terence Crawford to the list of names he has beaten to claim a belt.

Shawn Porter vs Terence Crawford: Belts comparison

Unlike Porter, Terence Crawford hasn’t been a full-time welterweight contender throughout his career. He has moved across divisions and has held titles all over. That said, Crawford’s welterweight ride reflects him to have held the WBO strap only, whereas Porter has been a WBC and IBF titleholder.

But if looked at from a broader perspective, ‘Bud’ Crawford has won much more.

Crawford, who has held the WBO lightweight title, WBO, and WBC super lightweight, currently has the WBO welterweight title. Apart from that, he has also held several minor belts.
