Terence Crawford is a prime name in the boxing universe today. Beginning his career in 2008, the Nebraska native has constantly improved and added some stellar wins to his name. Also, with his dominant and all-round show, Crawford is rightly regarded as one of the most dominant fighters active today.

Crawford won his very first world title in 2014 when he claimed the WBO lightweight strap. A year later, he fought for the vacant WBO super-lightweight title. Putting on some dominant performances for a while, ‘Bud’ even confronted Julius Indongo for the WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBF super-lightweight straps.

A year later, he notched up in a weight class to claim his current belt, i.e. the WBO welterweight title.

Who did Terence Crawford win the belt from?

Crawford beat Ricky Burns via a UD to win his very first WBO lightweight title. Later in 2015, ‘Bud’ hammered Thomas Dulorme to win the vacant super-lightweight title. In 2017, the Nebraska native outclassed Julius Indongo to win the WBC, WBO, WBA, and IBF 140-pound titles.

Moving on, Crawford beat Jeff Horn in 2018, to bag the WBO welterweight title.

Does Terence Crawford have more belts than Canelo Alvarez?

Alvarez, the p4p king, has held belts in super-welterweight, middleweight, super-middleweight, and light heavyweight divisions. On the other hand, Crawford has held belts across lightweight, super-lightweight, and welterweight rosters.

With this, it’s clear that there’s a world of a difference between the belts held by Canelo and the belts held by Crawford. But this doesn’t take away the hard work ‘Bud’ has put in over the course of his illustrious boxing stint.
