In his time, Lennox Lewis fought some of the biggest names in boxing. From Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield to David Tua and Vitali Klitschko, he fought and became an undisputed champion, a record yet to be broken in the division. But how would a boxer so active in his prime have fared against one of the best of modern times? It seems a putative line-up was conjectured between Lewis and Tyson Fury. And when the result came, it surprised most fans and followers.
Nearly 57% voted for ‘The Gypsy King’ to win, as against ‘The Lion’ who received 47% ayes. Sharing the details through his X account, @Draven1sm wrote, “Seriously, how do people become so clueless?! Lewis would obliterate Fury. Lewis is an ATG and a stylistic nightmare for someone [of] Fury’s size. I’m starting to think boxing fans are dumber than other sports fans!”

The following user highlighted how Lennox Lewis gets little credit. Moreover, few people realized how great a boxer he was then. The user recalled crying when he saw Hasim Rahman knock down Lewis in their 2001 match.
Lewis is underrated. Not as much as he was, but not enough people realised just how great he was at the time. I hated watching Rahman KO him.

The following fan emphasized that Tyson Fury hasn’t fought any boxer on Lennox Lewis’s level. ‘The Lion’ had the physique and the punch to stop anyone said the fan.
Fury hasn’t fought anyone near Lewis level. Lennox had the size and the jab. Lennox would have stopped

According to this fan, Fury will not win even once against Lewis. He called the reigning world champion ‘a joke’ and said that he is not in the least bit comparable to the greatest Heavyweight ever. The fan said that a 20-year-old Mike Tyson would have destroyed Tyson Fury in one round, and the list may continue.
Lewis knocks Fury out every time.
Fury is a joke. Not even close to the best heavyweights of all time.
20 year old Mike obliterates Fury in one round. The list is endless.— Pure Football LFC (@NightWriter365) September 14, 2023
This fan seemed a bit cautious. He’s not sure whether Lewis would be able to destroy Fury. After all, Lewis has had occasional bad nights. The fan believes that being the best of an unremarkable Heavyweight era makes it challenging to evaluate Fury. Lewis would have defeated Deontay Wilder within five rounds and meted out similar treatment to Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.
Not so sure he’d obliterate him. Lewis was prone to the odd off night himself.
It’s difficult to really judge Fury as he’s the best of a quite ordinary heavyweight era. Lewis would wipe the floor with Wilder inside five rounds. He’d dominate AJ, would be far too much for Usyk.— SCK1970 (@StuartKaye6) September 14, 2023
The following user says that in a time when there were many talented competitors, Lennox Lewis was a world-class champion of the highest caliber. Although the fan admires Tyson Fury, he concedes that ‘The Gypsy King’ is not a great champion.
Lennox Lewis was a world-class champion of the highest order in an era of high calibre contenders. I love Tyson fury but he isn't a great champion

In a career that spanned fourteen years, Lennox Lewis fought 44 times, out of which 41 were victories. Among his famous accomplishments are the 1999 and 2002 title defenses against Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson, respectively. But he also lost famously, first to Oliver McCall in 1994 and later to Hasim Rahman in 2001. However, he returned and paid the boxers in the same coin during both instances.
