Mike Tyson has witnessed several dark days in his larger-than-life career. Following impeccable success and fame, he saw the dirtiest sides of his life too. However, nothing seemed to break the Brownsville native’s warrior mindset. Overcoming all the dark phases of his life, Tyson stands tall even today and is still one of the most celebrated personas in the world.
However, there appears to be one such experience that broke ‘Iron’ Mike to his core. In 2009, the unfortunate and untimely demise of his 4-year-old daughter, Exodus, completely shattered the heavyweight legend. Tyson has always hesitated to talk about it. Even though he did a few times, the former champion couldn’t control his emotions.

According to reports, Tyson’s daughter died at their home. The 4-year-old fell on the home treadmill in a complicated fashion. With no help, she was severely injured. Although people took Exodus to the hospital and she received intensive care, the young girl lost the battle.

Sgt. Andy Hill explained the whole situation to the media publicly. He said, “Somehow, she was playing on this treadmill, and there’s a cord that hangs under the console; it’s kind of a loop. Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was obviously unable to get herself off of it.”
The incident was shocking for everyone. However, Tyson rose stronger from that point. It wasn’t an easy one, though. Mike Tyson, who suffered depression after the tragedy, almost lost control of his life on the stage.

Tyson began doing drugs after the tragic incident. ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ had publicly admitted that and also explained what drove him to the drug abuse. It was clearly a horrific incident, which could have destroyed Mike Tyson’s life. During a media interaction, Tyson became emotional while revealing the facts. After explaining a few things, Tyson humbly asked the reporter to leave, as he seemed to lose control over his emotions.

‘Iron’ Mike said, “I did some cocaine for a week. I had to get high, I had to pick, I had to get high… You have to go, you understand, right?”
