P4P king Canelo Alvarez has several accolades and features to tout. However, there are plenty of those that might not suit his top-tier status, especially at this stage. As we have seen through the years, the Mexican star has always denied his loss to Floyd Mayweather, urging how a rematch would have been absolutely different.

Despite such claims, there’s no denying that Floyd Mayweather had shocked a young Alvarez in 2013. This reluctance of Canelo Alvarez to acknowledge the results evoked several criticisms from fans. Meanwhile, the unified super middleweight champion may have contracted some more dent to that nature.

The recent scuffle between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant has clearly grabbed global attention. Besides, it may have shown a side of Alvarez, which many fans felt exhibited a double-standard. It may also portray the star boxer to be a hypocrite under some valid parameters.

As we saw Alvarez and Plant get physical in their first official face-off, no one actually knew the reason behind the entire altercation. It was prominent that both men had shared a verbal feud before trading blows. But how far did the verbal fight go?

Alvarez revealed IBF super-middleweight champion Caleb Plant had humiliated his mother, which provoked him to get violent. As per Sports bible, Alvarez connected with the media and shed light on why the feud actually began.

“Oh, he talked about my mum. He said ‘you motherf**ker’ so you passed the line right there, so that’s why I pushed him and then he came back with a left hook. That’s what happened,” said Canelo Alvarez.

However, there’s another side of Alvaerez’s personality that he showed in his post-fight conference for the Billy Joe Saunders fight.

Canelo Alvarez showing two sides

The latest Instagram post of Alvarez boasts the caption, “Don’t talk about my mom”, which is a clear statement aimed towards ‘Sweet Hands’ Caleb Plant. However, Alvarez didn’t walk away from trashing WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade with similar slurs that vexed ‘Boo Boo’ months back.

After a win over Saunders in May, Alvarez came across Andrade in the media interaction where ‘BooBoo’ wanted to face the P4P elite in-ring. However, Alvarez taunted him in response and tagged him a “mother****” publicly.

It didn’t sit well with the middleweight champion, who advanced the verbal feud from his end. But Alvarez kept abusing Andrade until both men were separated. The three-belt unified 168 lbs champion had clearly humiliated Andrade’s mother. Nevertheless, he couldn’t digest the same when Caleb Plant offered a similar verbal offense.

This particular comparison shows him as having two sides to him. But Alvarez loyalists may not feel the same. And that leaves the door open to other personality traits of Canelo Alvarez that we might haven’t seen yet.
