Wilder himself did not expect the subpar performance that he put up against Parker. He said, “I don’t know what happened to me, my timing was off and I didn’t throw my punches, I didn’t let my hands go like I was supposed to.”  Wilder apologized to his fans for letting them down. Moreover, he has adopted the growth mindset instead of wallowing in sorrow.

Moreover, Wilder said he would be back in the ring for another fight, squashing all the retirement speculations that gained traction after his post-match interview. “We will be back though, that’s the good thing about it,” the Alabama native stated.

The good thing is, he can now go back to his daughters, who were the reason for him to even start engaging in the sport. “I can’t wait to go back to my babies. I’ll see ya, today’s one of my daughter’s birthdays.” Impatient to meet his daughter on his birthday, he did not forget to thank and appreciate his fans for all the love and support they have showered him with. Previously, in the post-match interview, Wilder had second thoughts about making a comeback into the boxing ring ever again.
