Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was one of the highest-paid boxers during his prime. It has been reported that at one point in time, he was worth at least USD 430 million. But he squandered a majority of this wealth. Tyson blamed many people for the same, including his former manager, Rory Holloway. After nearly a decade of silence, Holloway opened up about Tyson’s life by releasing a biography in 2014.

However, he lost most of it and declared bankruptcy in 2003. It was reported that he was around USD 23 million in debt at that time. Tyson accused his former promoter, Don King, of mismanaging his funds. Moreover, he also sued his managers John Horne and Holloway. He charged them for failing to protect his interests in dealings with King. And also went on to call them King’s ‘paid puppets’.

However, he decided he will speak up as ‘his son was tormented’ because of Tyson’s allegations. In 2014, he released a book titled, ‘Taming the Beast: The Untold Story of Mike Tyson.’ In a way, the book can be described as Holloway’s devastating experience of witnessing his best friend self-destruct. And being incapable of doing anything about it.

He also denied Tyson’s claims. Holloway mentioned that Tyson was his own boss and squandered his money.
