On the 30th of July, a lethal fight took its course at the center of the boxing realm. In a historic showdown, Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. fought at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to determine who among them was the better fighter. Since the first round was heralded by the sound of the gong, Crawford exercised his dominance in the ring completely.

Leaving his opponent visibly gassed and compromised, Crawford became the unified champion of the welterweight division. With a 9th-round stoppage, Crawford gave Spence Jr., a loss that shook the boxing world. In the wake of this stellar victory, his name echoes in the realm as one of the most adept fighters of this era. Concurring with this opinion strongly is a lightweight champion and the fighter’s friend, Shakur Stevenson.

In the wake of ‘Bud’ Crawford registering his historic win against ‘The Truth’ Spence Jr., every person seems to be singing praises about the former’s boxing prowess. Not having had a single loss in his career of 40 fights, the fighter has made his place as the undisputed champion in two weight classes. And this historic feat comes to him as a result of the spectacular prowess he’s shown in each fight he’s undertaken.

Furthering such a case, ‘Sugar’ Stevenson remembers the time when he saw Bud at the gym sparring with a heavyweight boxer. He said, “This story I’ve said it before, but imma say it again. I was in the gym, I wanna say I was getting ready for Chris Diaz or something, and he was sparing like a heavyweight fighter. I’m looking, I’m like nervous for him. I’m like, why’s he in the ring for this big old dude? Man, I swear, he done, he caught this dude on the chin, and boom. Dude. Wobbling all around the ring.”

Sugar fought against Christopher Diaz in April 2019, only to dominate him through a unanimous decision.

Further, the fighter hailed Bud for his unparalleled strength. He said, “How is this guy this strong? But it’s like, honestly, Bud is very strong. Lot of people don’t realize how strong he is as a fighter. His punching power could travel through the weight classes.”

Terence Crawford calls out Canelo Alvarez for refusing to fight him

Bud still hopes for a Canelo fight. In this pursuit, he has launched yet another round of scathing attacks at Canelo. In 2020, Canelo Alvarez had agreed to fight Spence Jr. at 160, and this interview caught the attention of Bud. Calling out the Mexican fighter’s apparent double standards, he said, “Lol what’s y’all thoughts on @Canelo saying he can make a fight with Spence at 160 but for me he say I can’t make the weight. Wouldn’t make a difference just a thought.”

Months after Bud had risen to victory at the T-Mobile Arena, a similar fight took place in the same location. On the 30th of September, Canelo Alvarez successfully defended his super-middleweight title against Jermell Charlo through a unanimous decision. Through his precision attack, calculated footwork, and impressive calm, he showed the world why he’s one of the best fighters of this era. But being so adept at the sport pushes him toward fighters of equal caliber.

One such fighter is Terence Crawford. The boxing realm desperately awaits a showdown between the fighters. And so does Bud. In the wake of his victory against Spence Jr., and ahead of Canelo’s fight against Charlo, Bud had called on the winner of their bout for a fight. However, Canelo shrugged off the possibility of such a fight citing weight issues.
