The upcoming fight in Dmitry Bivol‘s professional career is crucial. He will be going up against Artur Beterbiev for the undisputed light heavyweight title fight on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Beterbiev is a dangerous pugilist. The undefeated light-heavyweight boxer has defeated all of his twenty opponents via stoppage. But, can Bivol put the first loss in his boxing record? After all, the Russian is also undefeated, and the only boxer of the current generation to have put a loss in the ‘face of boxing’ Canelo Alvarez‘s record after Floyd Mayweather. So, Dmitry Bivol is no stranger to causing shock upsets.

The fight was initially scheduled to take place in June, but it was later postponed after Beterbiev ruptured his meniscus in training The Russian Canadian unified light heavyweight champion has successfully come out of his knee injury and was present in his old form for the press conference for the fight a few days ago. With around two weeks left for the fight, both fighters are busy preparing hard in their respective training camp.

Lately, there has been a video circulating of Dmitry Bivol implementing a unique training method to strengthen his core. In a video titled, “Bivol is ready for battle ⚔️🔥”, posted by DAZN, the WBA champion can be seen holding himself in the plank position with his hands and legs completely outstretched, as wide as possible, without touching the towel placed under him. Dmitry Bivol held that position while his trainer counted backward from five, and then the boxer immediately made the transition into a new position.

The WBA light-heavyweight champion outstretched his hands to the front of him, tucking his legs to the inside, and held that position without touching the towel for ten seconds. His trainer started counting backward from ten. The Russian boxer held onto the position until the count was almost up and when his trainer reached one, Bivol collapsed onto the towel.

It was quite a rigorous and extremely difficult workout for the core. However, some boxing fans weren’t particularly thrilled by Dmitry Bivol’s workout.

The Bivol workout didn’t change this user’s mind about the upcoming fight. They commented, “I got @ABeterbiev by ko.” The prediction by this fan isn’t an outrageous one as Beterbiev has a 100% knockout ratio.

Meanwhile, another user was quite impressed by Bivol’s core workout and conveyed how “lucky” they were to witness this fight finally. They remarked, “Fitness level 💪💪how lucky are we to watch this fight without show off, trash talking…. Only incrdibles athletes fighting.” In fact, in the recently concluded press conference, the fighters were quite respectful towards each other and were more eager to showcase their skills inside the ring.

Another fan criticized Dmitry Bivol’s training drill, stating it wasn’t safe to conduct these corer workouts so close to a fight due to the high risk of getting injuries. They claimed, “Introducing new ‘trendy’ exercises 🤸‍♀️to someone who hasn’t done them before – can lead to new strains and injuries. Not smart to do them on the cusp of a fight. If you want to work his core, then play it safe. You need to keep the river flowing in the way it has always flown.” To exercise a bit of caution is important as Artur Beterbiev had already pulled out of their scheduled fight in June due to an injury. Another delay in the fight might jeopardize the prospects of the undisputed light heavyweight clash ever happening.

Quite a few users thought the pose resembled the pose held by Marvel superhero Spiderman. While commenting on the Spiderman pose, another fan decided to bring in the latest controversy plaguing Dmitry Bivol. The user wrote, “His wife don’t think he’s Spider-Man.” Notably, this comment was in reference to Dmitry Bivol’s ex-wife Ekaterina who, for the past few weeks, has been accusing him of not paying adequate child support, while shunning his responsibilities as a father.

On the other hand, one user claimed they won’t be watching the event despite having two great fighters on a fight card produced by Riyadh Season. Why? Their comment read, “He’s a machine but I won’t be purchasing I ain’t giving my money to Saudi Arabia and i have just stopped my dazn subscription as Eddie hearn thinks I’m borderline racist because I don’t agree with playing the Saudi national anthem at Wembley when the two fighter’s were British.”
