There are concerning reports coming in regarding Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.’s health. His wife’s call to the cops, expressing concern about his substance abuse tendencies, led to his admission to a psychiatric facility.

The reports come in the light of the 37-year-old giving out some controversial statements regarding his father. The fighter undermined Chavez Sr.’s illustrious long career by saying, “Even though my dad has a record of 90 and 89-0, maybe they were taxi drivers [his opponents].” He came under heavy fire for his statements against the legend. However, his father maintained a poised neutrality in response. Now, in recent developments regarding Junior’s mental health deterioration, the father has broken his silence.

In a conversation on  Bromeando con los Rivera show, the former fighter said, “I feel sorry for him, because his children are little and he’s not enjoying them. It hurts me that he’s going to go crazy, that he’s going to have an accident driving in the morning at full speed, that he’s going to have a heart attack from all the pills he takes.” Meanwhile, TMZ Sports has reported that on October 24th, Chavez Jr.’s wife Frida reached out to the authorities after she was worried about her husband’s health.

However, a week later, when the fighter came out of it, there were worries about a relapse. Senior Chavez noted, “It’s not possible that a week later he relapsed on the pills and I say: ‘What do I do?‘. I have taken him to the clinic again, he gets clean and again he comes out.”
