

This year’s highest-paid athlete list is out and has a number of surprises. The athletes from soccer and basketball dominated the list. There are only four combat sports warriors who succeeded in securing the spot. These names will certainly give you a shock.

4. Jake Paul – $37 Million
The most surprising name on the list is Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ achieved this milestone very early in his career. He took to boxing in 2018 and with 5 back-to-back contests, he established himself in combat sports.
According to Sportico, he made $37 million this year and clinched 45th place on the list. Interestingly, he made this hefty sum without going for any title shot.
The charisma of the Ohio boxer across the internet helped him do massive sales on pay-per-view. Along with that, he is making a minimum of $20million through YouTube.
3. Conor McGregor – $52 Million
The UFC star Conor McGregor is not new to the list. This year, the stars of his fortunes were not twinkling as bright as they did the previous year. ‘The Notorious’ earned a wealth of $52million, which is far more than any UFC athlete.

2. Tyson Fury – $69 Million
Tyson Fury’s fortunes accelerated at a massive pace this year. Last year, he was not even on the highest-paid list. The greatest heavyweight star of this generation made $69million and ranked at number 14.

The trilogy battle against former heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder gave him some of the biggest paydays of his career.
1. Canelo Alvarez – $89 Million
After Floyd Mayweather, Canelo Alvarez is the first boxer to make it to the top-10 highest-paid athletes list. Along with that, he is the highest on-field earner, leaving behind all athletes across all sports.
