The co-owner of Triller Fight Club, Snoop Dogg, spoke to Mike Bohn from MMA Junkie ahead of the weekend’s events. Jake Paul will take on Ben Askren in an attempt at extending his record to 3-0 as a professional boxer. Askren is coming off hip surgery and believes his mettle as an MMA fighter will be enough to seal up a victory.
Chiefly, the fight has garnered a lot of attention from combat sports fans worldwide. Triller has become the face of showcase crossover fights, and the turn-over is expected to be considerably large. What’s more, it seems like a new era in fight sports may very well be upon us as the lights shine on the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Snoop Dogg chimes in on self-promotion in fight sports
The famed west coach rapper was asked to share his candid views on Jake Paul and his approach to promotion in the fight game. ‘The Problem Child’ is arguably one of the most polarizing figures in combat sports, and he enjoys playing the heel. “You know, he know what he doing. Like one thing about a personality, when you got a personality you gotta know how to maximize it and he’s doing that right now. He’s making people talk about him, he’s making people love him and hate him and as a boxer, that’s what you want. You don’t want one side, you want both sides so that way you have something to fight for.”
Jake Paul has divided the entire combat sports community with how he goes about things. However, there’s no question that fans will tune in for one reason or the other. It certainly helps to have Ben Askren on the other side who is adept at fight promotion in his own right.

Together, Askren and Paul have dominated the news cycle. This is a rather commendable feat considering that a Bellator event just went by and a UFC event is around the corner.
