Tyson Fury is the biggest rival Anthony Joshua never fought. A few years ago, both British boxers were the heavyweight champions of the world. The boxing world, especially the British fans was eager to see an undisputed heavyweight title fight between them. The matchup had all the ingredients for a high-stakes bout.
However, Joshua was dethroned as a champion and a bout between the two did not come to fruition. But their animosity is prevalent. In a recent turn of events, Fury weighed in on his opinion about, ‘AJ,’ and it was quite hostile, to say the least.

Tyson Fury calls Joshua a “Gym Sweeper”
The Gypsy King’ has his way with words and his ability to trash-talk his opponents amuses the fans, at large. Ahead of his showdown against Francis Ngannou, Fury was asked about Joshua. In response, he asserted that the former champion is insignificant to him and has failed to impress him despite his recent win against Robert Helenius. In addition, he had some choice words to say about him.
In an interview with @IFLTV, he stated, “There is no Anthony Joshua to me at least. The man is a gym sweeper. Sweeps the gym floor and that by people. He’s like an old journeyman now.” He added, “If you are a decent heavyweight you would want to beat up on somebody and call him out. Beat him easy. Sausage.

From his comments above, it can safely said that Fury doesn’t consider Joshua to be an elite-level boxer and disregarded a fight with him. However, only back in May of this year, the boxer made Joshua and offer. Here is what you need to know about it.

Anthony Joshua does not consider Fury a threat
Back in May of this year, Fury made an offer to Joshua and made the purse split known. According to talksport, it is reported that Fury offered him a 60-40 in favour of the champion for the first fight. In addition, he had a rematch clause and if he were to lose the first bout, the pursue split would be 50-50.
