The heavyweight division of boxing is chock full of fascinating contests for the next year. The biggest of all would be Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk’s bout for the undisputed heavyweight champion title. The WBC has also ordered Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz Jr. to fight inside the squared circle. See what Ruiz has to say about it.

Both Andy Ruiz Jr. and Deontay Wilder have been inactive in the sport lately. But both of them made a striking return this year, and fans are anticipating seeing more of their fights. When asked about his upcoming battle with Wilder, Ruiz Jr. answered, “For me, I feel like I can take a punch. I’m not saying that he doesn’t hit hard or nothing, damn well he hits hard. But just how Eddie Hearn was saying, I’m gonna get in, I’m gonna throw my combinations, I’m gonna be fast, explosive, and I throw that right hand, in his temple, he’s gonna go down.”

Wilder and Ruiz Jr. are among the most destructive boxers in the heavyweight division. However, owing to Wilder’s reputation of being the hardest puncher in boxing, fans speculate that he would out power the Mexican boxer. The winner of this clash would then get a chance to fight Tyson Fury for the WBC belt.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ recently came off a stunning knockout victory against Robert Helenius. But before his battle with Helenius, Wilder was quizzed about Ruiz Jr. He went on to say that first, he has got business to handle on October 15th in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.  

Wilder further added, ”Once I handle business I’m always confident in myself … I’m looking forward to having a fight with Ruiz, for sure. And upon that I’ll reveal some things to him that he didn’t know. I’ve blessed him already before. He don’t even know this. But I’ll reveal it to him.”
