Canelo Alvarez is set to face Jermell Charlo on Saturday in the fighting capital of the world, Las Vegas. This will be the second time the Mexican-raised boxer will grace the squared circle this year. Not to mention, this will also be the first time Alvarez will fight under the ‘PBC,’ banner. Tyson had many trainers throughout his career. However, Teddy Atlas is one of the most notable trainers. The 67-year-old is not just a boxing coach but also a boxing analyst and commentator. Although every boxing fan and pundit has their opinions, his assessment is always regarded highly by the boxing world at large. Moreover, recently, according to Boxing Social, the trainer gave his assessment of Saul as a boxer.
According to him, the 33-year-old gets more credit than he truly deserves. Although he finds Canelo to be a formidable boxer, ‘Cinnamon’ is not the best fighter to come out of Mexico, according to him. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “Canelo has always been overrated. Now, that doesn’t mean that he is not a real good fighter, but he is not the greatest Mexican fighter of all time.”
It is safe to say that Atlas is not a massive fan of Alvarez. He also touched upon the fact that Alvarez has been defeated in the past and has loopholes in his skillset that make him beatable. However, do you wonder how Alvarez reacted when he heard about it?
