The WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and the WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk are in serious talks for the undisputed heavyweight championship for months since the latter came out victorious in the rematch against the former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

The fight is a big talking point in the boxing world because it would be the first time since 1999 that the boxing’s most exciting weight division will get the undisputed champion. Back then Lennox Lewis, the British heavyweight legend defeated the American heavyweight great Evander Holyfield to capture the title.

But in the modern era, boxing is facing a lot of problems in making such big fights happen. The business aspect of the fight has become a roadblock for both Fury and Usyk.

Earlier it was looking like everything was sailing smoothly between the two. The duo were taking shots at each other and were determined to prove who is the modern great in the heavyweight division but suddenly the negotiations have been halted.

Now the fight is in jeopardy over purse distribution. Fury, widely considered  as the biggest heavyweight star of the current generation wants a lion’s share of the fight purse. On the other hand, Usyk, who holds the most belts in the division did not want to countenance anything less than a half share.

Before this, the fight was facing a venue problem. Originally, it was going to take place in Saudi Arabia but recently Mike Coppinger of ESPN reported it will take place in London. Since the fight is taking place in Fury’s home country, so he is emphasizing more on taking a bigger share of the purse as spectators from his country will be in majority in the stands.

This is the reason why Usyk shared a post on Twitter calling out Fury. The comment section witnessed a lot of wrath from fans on the latter.

What did fan write about Tyson Fury in Oleksandr Usyk’s post?

A fan wrote, “Hahahaha Fury has gone very quiet, he’s ducking the middleweight… fury ducked Joshua. Usyk the true king of the Division!”
