Oscar De La Hoya‘s illustrious resume speaks volumes about his caliber. He handed defeats to the likes of Pernell Whitaker, Julio Cesar Chavez, Hector Camacho, and Shane Mosley. Except he never beat ‘Sugar’. The American boxer’s memory evaded him when he was listing his glories, and as it has been the case, twice, Mosely had a better response to what De La Hoya threw.

Mosley, 52, turned to his X handle and shared a clip of De La Hoya’s interview as the latter declared he was on the “top of the world.” But ‘Golden Boy’ soon made a contentious claim, as he is heard saying, “Here I’m on the top of the world. Beating Pernell Whitaker, beating Julio Cesar Chavez, beating Hector ‘Macho’ Camacho, beating Sugar Shane Mosley…” This didn’t sit well with Mosley, at 49-10-1, who then ripped apart his former foe.

Notably, Mosley and De La Hoya met twice in the ring in heavy-stakes fights, with titles on the line. Mosley swept both encounters on points. It was understandable when the Lynwood native lost his calm as he asked, “Beating Sugar Shane Mosley? I wonder where was I at when this happened. I didn’t know that I lost the fight, I thought that I won this fight.”

The former three-division champion added, “So I don’t know what dimension Oscar is living in, if it’s  planet Earth. Where are we at? Like, when did I lose this fight? I didn’t. I didn’t know that I lost. Nobody informed me that I lost the fight. Wow, Oscar is maybe, he’s doing drugs again or something.

Mosley, in another post, called his 51-year-old counterpart “delusional,” as he wrote,Oscar de La Hoya saying he beat me is delusional.” Mosley boasts a splendid resume, fighting every prominent name in his weight classes over 16 years. Therefore, the charm of fighting never faded within him, as evidenced by his two exhibition fights after retirement. It seems he wants one last opportunity to float around in the ring and put on a show for the fans.

He declared with an intention to meet someone in the middle of the ring in late August and early September, “I want to announce that we just signed to do an exhibition fight with the official Celebrity Boxing.” Whether Mosley can match the intensity levels and reach peak fitness levels is something that fans have to see for themselves.
