Mike Tyson has never really been full of praise towards five-division champion Floyd Mayweather. Instead, the heavyweight legend has mostly ridiculed Mayweather for touting his supremacy over the other boxers. There’s no denying Mayweather is certainly an all-time legend, but not everyone sees him as the best boxer ever, including ‘Iron’ Mike.
Dubbed as ‘The Best Ever’ (TBE), Floyd Mayweather had once claimed himself greater than Muhammad Ali, which evoked mixed reactions from the combat community. Tyson also dived into the debate and slammed ‘Money’. That said, Tyson idolizes Ali as one of his boxing inspirations. So, all of it jointly urged him to unleash a verbal assault on the undefeated boxer, Floyd Mayweather, back in the days.
Mike Tyson said, “He’s very delusional. Listen, if he was anywhere near that realm of great as Muhammad Ali, he’d be able to take his kids to school by himself.”

“OK, he can’t take his kids to school by himself, and he’s talking about he’s great? Greatness is not guarding yourself from the people. ‘It’s being accepted by the people. He can’t take his kids alone to school by himself. He’s a little scared man. He’s a very small, scared man.”
Nevertheless, Mayweather never really stopped expressing his prowess over the other legends. 50-0 as a professional, he is arguably the richest athlete on the planet. Hence, there are enough reasons why Mayweather hasn’t cared about other’s opinions, continuing to advertise him as the best amongst all.

So, it’s clear that both men have a mutual hatred for each other, which might have changed in recent times. However, no specific report validates Mayweather and Tyson to be friends.
Mike Tyson vs Floyd Mayweather – Almost a feud
Years back, WBC had hosted a special night to hail all of its commendable boxers. Several elites, like Thomas Hearns and Mike Tyson, had attended the event. Meanwhile, Tyson created headlines by swinging a fake punch at Mayweather on stage. His eyes clearly expressed anger, but ‘Iron’ hugged ‘TBE’ and the two laughed off.

Although the situation escalated quickly, it clearly reflected Tyson’s animosity over his fellow American star. Tyson and Mayweather have walked separate paths from then, and have their respective activities on board after retirement. That said, their differences continue to split the combat world into two halves.
