Alvarez, in fact, is one of the top pound-for-pound boxers currently. He serves as an inspiration to countless Mexicans who admire him, so don’t be astonished if you encounter a girl celebrating her 15th birthday by boxing.

Mauricio Sulaiman, the President of the President of the World Boxing Council (WBC), and a Mexican himself, shared the clip on his X account. Fans have not held back from expressing their disbelief and admiration for the respect that the sport receives in the country. Let us dive in.

Sulaiman posted the clip captioning it, “Only in Mexico ! This is how this girl celebrates her 15th birthday!” A girl all dressed up in a cream-coloured gown that tightened at the waist and delicately flowed to her feet, hair made up and a tiara adorning it also had red boxing gloves on as she sparred someone who seemed to be a relative of hers.

A wide smile spread across her face as she took the playful punches. She did not pull back, landing her jabs and uppercuts as another man stepped on the stage to have a little sparring session in the midst of all the celebrations. Her loved ones stood by and watched the match from the side.

Fans surprised to see teenage girl boxing on her birthday

As one would expect from boxing fans, they were happy to see the sport being appreciated and encouraged. “That left hook to the body,” said one fan who noticed the left hook that she landed on her party guests.

“Did you put up a special belt?” asked another fan jokingly to Sulaiman.

“Love the fire of Mexican people and their love for the sport of boxing!” said another fan lauding Mexicans for their love for the sport.

Another fan made an observation, stating, “That’s how you know boxing runs in their blood.”

Another fan found Alvarez’s next rival in the clip. They said, “Here you have the next rival for Canelo, btw is the one in white dress…”

Fans maintained the emotion reflected by the girl, filling the comments with humor and encouragement.
